“If ever thre' Cavan you happen to lie”
If ever thro' Cavan you happen to lie,
You surely will think it a journey of joy.
Of all the old places of lowland retreat
There's something it has incomparably sweet
"The last place God made some utter unblest
If this be the case then he made it the (best) blest.
His practise was good, and when he had done
The bountiful Breffni was second to none.
II
So pay us a visit you are welcome my friend
And that all the more if you have money to spend
The right hand of friendship we'll offer you deft -
You must take your chances, of course with the left;
There's places in plenty around you will find
Well fit to intrigue your poetical mind
And when of dear Cavan your verdict you give
We bet in its bosom you're dying to live

The Tory Bush rather misleads in the name
The Tories are few, and the bushes the same
It's just an old place where we say a thing plumb
