    One Sunday in the afternoon I heard a mother's cries

    Interred in Raffony old churchyard beneath the silent clay.
    In death he's doomed to slumber until the final Judgment day.
    When St. Michael sounds the trumpet blast, from death he shall awake,
    And may his soul find mercy who was drowned in Cuilca Lake.
    Now to conclude and finish with the Lord and Saviour kind.
    In glorious rays of glory may his soul for ever shine.
    And may the Blessed Virgin her intercession make.
    For the soul of Laurence Butler who was drowned in Cuilca Lake.
