  1. The ghost of a man named Simmons, who lived opposite Elliot's house near Virginia used to appear at Dunanchory Bridge after his death.
It was very troublesome and a curate from Munter-connaught settled it until he would pass that way again.
A man named Pat Clarke who lived near Luigan Chapel shot himself. The curate on hearing of the tragedy hastened to attend the dying man. Simmons re-appeared several times and was again troublesome. The priest came again and settled him between the froth and the water in the river.
This happened about sixty years ago.
