  1. Pat Gillic's mother, Ryefield Virginia Co. Cavan made a request when she was dying that a beautiful white quilt which she made herself should be wrapped round her in the coffin. When it came to burying her they said it was a sin to waste such a lovely article. When her sons and daughters returned from the funeral they saw her sitting at the fire with the quilt round her. They had to go back to the graveyard and open up the grave again and wrap the quilt round her so as to have peace in their own home.
