    The farmers they are doing well

    The farmers they are doing well,
    And that without a doubt,
    You'd think they were of noble blood,
    To see them turning out.
    With every man throughout the land
    Machinery is the go.
    They'll have no threshing done with flails.
    They think it is too slow.
    So let you all be merry boys,
    And keep your hearts in cheer,
    We'll have better times in Ireland
    Before another year
    The baker he's of another class,
    Of whom they do not dread,
    He's always buying rotten spuds to stuff them in the bread.
    He says his loaves they are the best
    And of the foremost class,
    But with barm, sand and sawdust,
    They are not feeding for an ass.

    They'll say to every man,
