    at the bar & being well intoxicated began to brag of their bravery each trying to excel the other. One man bet a pint of whiskey that the other would not enter the graveyard and bring in a skull. The bet was accepted but the other went out first in secret & lay in wait. Lifting a skull the entrant was about to return when the other shouted in a disguished & dry voice "Leave that down. That is my grandfathers". This was left down & a second lifted but the commanding voice again ordered it being left down as it was his fathers. This was done & a third lifted but again it was ordered to be left down. He refused this time as the Duke said he did not give a damn if it was his own he would take it & entering triumphantly into the bar with the skull he won his bet.
