  1. A well existed in Drumualara near the road long ago but no trace of it remains now.
Once a girl named Boylan brought water from the well. As soon as she got into the house and left down the can of water, she commenced to scream at the top of her voice. She screamed continuously for two or three days and could give no explanation of the cause.
The priest was sent for. He prayed over her for some time. Then he cut a lock of her hair and asked for a harrow-pin. He tied the lock of hair round the harrow-pin and buried it in the floor of the 'lower' room, i.e, the room below the kitchen. He ordered the well to be closed, and the girl. This was done and the girl became normal again.
