    20. Sprained Thumb
    To be lightly bound with dried skin of a eel after having been rubbed with goose-seam (fat of goose).
    21. Burns
    Shock - Fresh blood from a fowl mixed with milk - to be taken before it coagalates. Apply lime water to the burns.
    22. Chicken Pox
    (To drive out rash) cowslip wine taken hot.
    23. Black Eye
    1/ Poultice made from raw beef and applied to swollen part.
    2/ Poultice made from black "briony"-root and bread to be put on eye and to be kept there a few hours.
