first time that the '' Indian Meal '' came into this parish.
There was a a place called
'' Cul-Phailís in the parish, and the meal used to be cooked in it, and the poor people used to come and get cans of it, and bring it home with them. This was only given to the very poor people who were not able to buy the meal. There were other places where the meal used to be sold to anyone who was able to buy it.
