The little man said he did not, but when Murphy threatened to lock him up in a chest he agreed to show him where gold was hidden. When daylight came the pair walked up the mountain to a big Alt. The fairy took a sallow branch and planted it in the ground. "Here" said he "a crock of gold is buried". "Go home and get a spade and dig for it".
When Murphy came back with the spade there were hundreds of sallows growing on both sides of the Alt.
- John Foley of Dargoon, grabbed a neighbours land because the owner was unable to pay high rent. Nobody spoke to him or no shopkeeper could give him food until he gave up the land.
Police were in and outside his house guarding him while he kept the land. Several of these men were killed. When he was in the last hope of recovery of dying from starvation he gave up the land glad to get rid of it. - Collector
