    There is a family called Cummins and they can cure horses. There must be seven sons with-out any daughters in between them. The seventh son must come every day for three days and stroke the horses' leg. That is supposed to make the horse better.
    People called Murphy can cure burns. They get grease and say a prayer over it. Then they put the grease on the burn.
    Keoghs are able to cure ringworms. They cut their fingers and put the blood around the ring-worm. This is supposed to cure shingles too.
    A girl who never saw her father cures sore mouths.
    Miss Lyddy Gyves cures yellow jaundice. She boils herbs and gives them to the sick person.
