  1. The following composition is about old crafts.
Long ago all the farmers had forges of their own. They used to shoe their own horses and buy the nails and all things that they would want.
The forges began to fall and get out of date.
They used to fall from time to time till there were only about two forges in the district and there are about two or three in the district at present.
Pottery work was carried on in the Chase.
They used to get clay in the wood at Barker's well and they used to draw it from that to the Chase.
They had to work very hard that time because they had very good wages.
The Chase is a place in Carrigduff near Bunclody. Barker's Well is in the wood in Carrigduff beside Bunclody.
They used to make flower pots from potters clay.
They used to wet the clay like cement.
They used to make these things with a thing called a mould. It is shaped like a flowerpot.
The mould was made from wood.
