  1. On the left bank of the river Burrin in the townland of Killistown Parish of Rathoe and Barony of Forth there is a mound of rough ground known as the "Killemall". This place was once a street when the English soldiers burned it down. Some of the soldiers asked their superior officers when the men were all shot, "What will we do with the women and children? and his answer was "Kill them all. Kill them all,". Hence it got its name "Killemall."
