    borrowed three days from March and skinned the old cow with the cold.
    When the corn is all drawn in and threshed there is a fortnight called the "Harvest of the Geese". The geese and turkeys and hens all feed on the corn left on the ground. You would see them in every stubble field beside the road. "The Harvest of the Geese" comes late in September and early in October.
    A farmer is counted late if he has not his corn in and threshed before "The Harvest of the Geese" comes.
