  1. Bird Lore
    There are a lot of birds to be found in the district such as robins, sparrows, blackbirds and thrushes and other local birds. These birds do not migrate, but there are three birds which come to Ireland for the summer and go away in winter, they are the swallow and the cuckoo and the corncrake.
    The robin builds her nest in a stump of a tree and lays five or six eggs. The eggs are very small white ones with brown dots on them. She makes two nests and lays two clutches of eggs.
