    makes her nest in the hedge. She lays five eggs.
    The swallow makes her nest under the eaves of houses. She makes her nest of balls of mud and straw. She lays four white eggs. The cuckoo makes no nest at all, she lays her egg in another bird's nest when the other bird is not there.
    The crossbill got it's name thus when the Saviour was nailed to the cross. He tried to pull out the nails and in doing so he bent his bill and ever since he is called the crossbill. This is the legend.
    When the swallows fly low there is going to be rains; they fly low to catch the insects.
