  1. Farm Animals
    The main animals on farms in the locality are cows. bullocks, heifers, calves, sheep, horses, pigs, asses, jennets (few), mules, ponies, hens, ducks, geese, chickens, turkeys. The cows are usually named according to colour or place or person from whom bought, e.g. The blacked cow spotted. The Roan, The Black. The Heifer, The Polly, Whitehead, Murray's cow, Horans etc. The Cowbe cow (bent horns), etc. A white one - snow, etc. The Maol (no horns). When driving them they say Ho, Ho-up. Hí, Hí. Calves are usually named in same way and driven in same manner.
    The cows are usually tied with "Bails" that is a U shaped iron with a catch on top is put around the cows neck. This is fastened by the catch on top. This bail is attached to the manger by a chain. In other cases two chains are attached to the manger
