  1. My home is situated in the town-land of Creggan, about one mile from Ferbane, Offaly. There are about eighteen families living there. The houses are small and thatched. There are only four slated houses in it. Egan is the most common name. Four families of Egans are living in Creggan and there are several families of Egans in the surrounding district also. There are only two very old men in Creggan one is over seventy and the other is eighty-eight. The former is James Connor and the latter is Patrick Dolan.
