  1. The Lore of Certain Days
Many people in the district would not commence any work, such as cutting hay, sowing corn etc, on Friday, because they believe that it would not be finished.
It is said that whatever a person does on New Year's Day he will be doing it all the year. Many people would not pay out money on New Year's Day.
It is said that "Saturday's flitting is a short sitting". Consequently people do not like changing their residence on a Saturday. Saturday is also considered unlucky for a wedding.
