    blotted out the Blessed Virgin's foot steps in the snow on her flight to Egypt. Then she left that bird so quick that no one would kill it.

  2. The Crow: If the 1st March falls on a Sunday the Crow will not build her nest but waits until the 2nd.
    Robin: The robin picked thorns out of our Lord's head; some of the blood getting on his breast, leaving all robins with red breasts.
    Swallow: If the swallow's nest is robbed the cow or cows of the robber will milk blood.
