- The Old Hat: It is called The Old Hat because it is high in the middle and low on the sides and it is in the shape of a hat.The Hollow Field: It is called that name because is down in a hollow.Kiln Field: It is called by that because there was a kiln for drying corn in it long ago.The Race Field: It was given that name because there was a races held in it at one time.FairfieldDalys Field: Named after a Daly family who lived in John Coyne's field, Bracklin, Kilbeggan, Co Westmeath.Wills' Field: Named after a man who lived in our field but is now dead.Tommie Dunne's Field: Called after him because he owned that field.Collected by Gretta Dalton (13), Bracklin, Kilbeggan.
