- (continued from previous page)nothing till o'clock in the day. The food they used was bread without butter and tea without milk. They used to eat two meals a day. It was called the "black fast".
- Long ago bread was made from oaten meal. The meal was wetted with cold water but nothing else was put in it. It was then baked on a griddle. It took the same time to bake as a flour cake.
- People sat around the table in the centre of the flour when eating their meals. The table was not hung against the when not in use.
