  1. Herbs
There are several herbs found on the land in this district.
The ground mullen plant, and brook lime cure a cough. The brook lime chiefly grows in water. The ground ivy when eaten raw also cures a cough. The mullen plant is boiled then eaten. The mullen plant is of a yellow colour. The ivy is green and the brook lime is white. The brook lime also cures kidney complaints and has saved many from death.
March-mallis is supposed to cure swellings from falls and cuts
    House leek cures sprains.
Dandelion is a cure for a pain in the stomach.
The sorrel used to be chewed in the mornings before breakfast as a certain cure for toothache.
