  1. One night my grandfather was coming home from Thorps and as he was coming down to the corner he saw a big black dog and a man in black with a cloven foot, riding on him.
    The dog was, in his way and he had a stick in his hand and was going to hit the dog when all of a sudden he got as big as anything and went down towards John Murphy gate and disappered but my grandfather said the hair was standing to an end at the fright he got.
