    Food in olden times
    In olden times the poor people had to live on one meal a day while the rich people had two or three meals. The meals consisted of barley and oaten bread, potatoes, buttermilk and yellow meal. The most of the working class took their breakfast out in the filed, perhaps working for hours before it. Their breakfast consisted of yellowmeal porridge and buttermilk. They took their dinner in the house where they would be working.
    They used to get fish and potatoes. Very few had meat. It was a great treat for them to get a piece of fresh meat or a piece of currant bread on a
