  1. There was a travelling woman one time and she came to a farmer's house in Coolboy. She did a bit of work for them and when she was departing she said :- "How is it you are so poor, and there is as much gold in your land as would buy the whole town's land"? and she told them to dig until they would come to a flag in the ground, and under the flag they would find the gold. They went out to dig, but they soon got tired. The woman was never seen since and it is said that the gold is still there.
