    The banshee keens on the death of any member of certain families in county Wexford. About thirty years ago a man by the name of Bartholemew Burke of Lady's Island county Wexford was dying in Wexford hospital. On the night of his death the patients were startled by a weird wailing around the hospital. The strange piercing shrieks struck terror to the hearts of all. It was the lonely keening of the banshee bewailing the loss of another member of the Burke family. It
