    after the nights plundering went into a farmer's haggard and brought some straw away with him for to make his bed and to have a good sleep. I think I heard the name of the farmer tht owned the straw. It was a man named Rigley. But Grant was not long gone into the Cave when there came a servant girl for a can of water to the well which was close to the cave. When she saw the mark of straw down along to the cave she peeped in and there was Grant sleeping soundly. The wicked girl thought of a plan to get Grant taken. Going to the well she filled a can of water and stole into the cave. Grant having laid his powder and pistols by his side in case of danger. This girl had little trouble in spilling the can of water all over them
