    I
    Come friends pay attention
    I'll sing you a song
    And I hope in the verses you'll find nothing wrong
    Concerning the Guards of honour and rank
    And in our little village there was never such "swank".
    II
    One fine Thursday in June of this present year
    A Sergeant and four Civic Guards they came here
    When they came to the village they's no where to go.
    But to Brave Katty Quirkes who I'm sure you all know
    III
    So there they remained to this present day
    And friends don't you think that there they may stay
