  1. Dandelion. The roots of the dandelion were boiled and the juice was drunk, and it was said to be good for heart trouble.
    Meadow sweet. The blossoms were boiled and milk was added with flavouring, and it was used as a drink for the blood.
    Garlic. Garlic was hung in houses to prevent the flu from spreading.
    The flower of the elder tree. The flowers were used for making ointment for cuts or sores. They were boiled and strained, and the liquid was left to cool. It then formed an ointment.
