  1. Saint Dubhain.
    A celebrated old Irish king had a son named Aulach. Aulach was a pagan. Later on he went to Wales on a plundering excursion and there he married a princess. Aulach had a son named Brecan who became a Catholic. Brecan then married a Welsh princess named Dina and they had ten sons. Among these sons there was one named Dubhain. Brecan owned a vast lot of estates in Brecknockshire and that is the reason why the place was called after him.
    Before Saint Patrick came to Ireland there were missionaries over in England trying to convert the people. They succeeded in converting Brecan and his wife.
