    On the 9th day of January the wind a gale did blow,
    When nine and twenty hands were lost,
    Off the Alfred L. Snow.
    From the port of San Francisco,
    She sailed across the sea,
    Bound for the port of Liverpool,
    He cargo it was grain,
    Poor fellows it was hard to say,
    As just your voyage was o'er,
    After four long years and
