    In this district marriages most usually take place before Advent and Lent. The month of May is considered a very unlucky month for marriage. June is a very lucky month for marriage. Saturday is the unlucky day for marriage and Wednesday is the lucky day. Very few matches are made in this district. The girl's father always gives her a fortune when she is getting married. The boy's parents give him some stock if he has not much of his own when he is getting married.
    Very old residents of this district remember the time when people married in houses. When the bride and groom are coming out of the Church after getting married people throw confetti, barley and rice on them. A pair of very old boots or a big card with the words "Just married
