  1. There was a little baby about three days old when he was taken away by the fairies and another baby the image of the young baby left in its place. The child was a terrible nusince and used to cry all night. When there would be nobody about he would take a flute from under the pillow and play beautiful music. There were two men staying in the house and heard the music and were much surprised. They told the woman to pretend to go to town but to creep back and listen. So the women went off and then the baby spoke and asked the men if the woman was far away. The man pretended to look out and said she was but the woman was creeping back. The men asked the baby to play and have a smoke. The baby had a few ciggarets and played on the flute. Then the woman came in and the baby began to cry. The woman did
