  1. One day St Brigid was in Ardagh. A woman who lived there spoke ill of St Brigid. The woman went to St Mel to Confession and the penance he gave her was to carry a red coal from Ardagh to the Pound of Killion. She did so and trew the coal into the lake Nearby The lake dried and it is still dry to this day.
