  1. An Old Story.
    About three hundred years ago a great strong king ruled over Ireland. Every one loved him because he was kind to the people he ruled over. One day he went hunting with some of his friends. In the middle of the day it was very warm. The king sat down to rest. The king fell asleep and his soldiers stood watching him with their shields. The longer he lay the harder he slept and no one could waken him It began to get dark. The shields fell from the soldiers hands. The dogs began to bark and the horses started to tear the ground.
