    5 In 1891, April 1st, the present
    Boy's School was erected and
"Master Pat" and his pupils were
    transferred there.
    Note. It appears from School
    Records "Master Pat" was
    appointed Monitor on 1.3.56 and
    retired 31.12.1907. It also appears
    from records he received his
Diploma at 18. His successor was:
    James Reilly 1907 to 29.9.1915,
    who was succeeded by
    Richard Cosgrave 1915 to June
    1920 who was succeeded by
    William McNiff 1920 to November
    1924 who was succeeded by
    Edward Farrell 1924 to November
    1925 who was succeeded by
    L.J. McGrath 1925
    Note: St. Bernard's School became
    under Fr Dolan an Intermediate
    Education School and was
    successful in gaining Exhibitions,
Prizes and medals. It gave many
priests of the Diocese their first
    Classical education. Many of its
pupils went as priests to all parts
    of the world.
    Note: The Presentation Nuns
remained in Granard only a few
    years, taking their departure in
    1882(?) for Portadown. They were
succeeded by the Sisters of Mercy
    from Newtownforbes who later
    built the present Convent. (1890?)
