  1. Once upon a time an old man and his wife lived together in Rooskey. The man became very ill and was very near expired. So the wife went for milk to a friend's house a long way off. The woman sat down at the fire in the friend's house and as she resting herself she jumped up suddenly and shouted, Oh! "there is Mickey gone by the window ", meaning her own husband who was ill at home. She hastened home and found her man dead so he must have died when she saw him going by the window.
