  1. In the townland of Cloonether near here there lived a farmer named Edward Kennedy who had a sister Annie in America. This story was told by his work-man.
    One day as he and his work-man was working in the field he stood up suddenly and stuck his spade in the ridge and then he exclaimed, Oh! "there is Annie gone into the house". He was expecting her home for a long time and he was delighted to see she had arrived. But to his great surprise she was not within. So he was greatly frightened.
