  1. St Patrick crossed the Shannon at (?) the Ford on his way from Athleague to Tara. He is supposed to have worked miracles at the " Togher " or Ford. At Annagh Mills (?) there is a well dedicated to the Saint. It is said that the Pagans at Mt (?) Temple ill-treated the Saint and that he fled in the direction of Annagh.

  2. This well is situated about half a mile north of Ballinahown on the side of a hill in the lands of Mrs B. Martin and is dedicated to St. Patrick. A large ash tree overhangs the well. Many of the arms are rotten and have fallen. It is possible to walk through a large aperture in the trunk of
