    the lake when a man who was working with Mrs. Vericer went out into the lake to wash his horse's hoofs after exercising him but the horse swam out in the lake and drowned himself and the man.

  2. A couple of hundred years ago a family named Nangle lived in Streamstown house which was a little to the east of the present house.
    There were always a good many men employed but during the busy seasons they were employed extra men named Geraghty, Kelly and Murray.
    Banks were unheard of in those days and the Nangles like all other Irish families kept their money in the house.
    So these three men decided
