  1. The name of my townland is Faughalstown. It is situated in the barony of Fore, and in the Parish of Mayne.
There are nine families living in the townland and about thirty five people. The most common name is Murtagh.
Some of the houses are thatched others slated. Some of them are very old types of houses. It is such an ancient place nobody can tell how it got its name. There are a few people over seventy living in the district they tell stories about the townland.
