    young men searched but failed to enter on fairy island. At length three men a carpenter, blacksmith and a rope maker agreed to go. They went to the shore and found a boat, the carpenter fixed it up and the three sailed in on the Island. They searched for hours but found no trace of them. The were tired and sat down to prepare a bit of lunch. They were not sitting long when a little red man came up, eighteen inches high and a beard thirty six inches long and asked them for their crumbs. They made him welcome to share of what they had so the rope maker asked him If he knew about the three girls he laughed at them and tried to get away but the blacksmith caught hold of him and would not let him go he swore he would take his life if he wouldnt tell them about them so the little man refused to tell him and the blacksmith said he would bring home and cut of his bread if he would not tell them all about them sooner than loose the beard he told all about. The blacksmith was not pleased and would not let him go until he would show them where they were so he brought them to the cave and told him they were in it and he said you will want to be very careful as there are three fairy Kings in it and unless you kill these three you can not rescue the girls. So the blacksmith said unless you come and help
