    their houses, and make baskets for them.
    There was also a very old man named Flanagan who used to make rush candles. The time the trouble was in Ireland he showed a lot of people how to make them. First they got the inside of the rush, and wet it with grease called goose-seam. Then they rolled it with a spurn to keep it straight and round. Then it was laid on a piece of metal to cool it, and then it was ready for use.
    There lived a very old woman named Mrs. Reilly, Skearke, Mullagh, Kells, Co. Meath who was famous for spinning & weaving, and also dying clothes for the people.
