  1. The year before last I saw a hedge sparrow building her nest early in Spring. She made her nest with moss and feathers and then she lined it with very fine hair. She laid five very rich blue eggs, she hatched for two weeks and when the young birds came out and got their feathers they were exactly the same colour as their parents. The mother bird was about a fortnight teaching them how to fly.
