   of fairies inside. Here he created an awful scene of cursing. He said he would kill all there if he did not get his cow. So they drove him and his cow out of the fort, he holding on to the cow's tail and she dragging him, he not knowing where he was till daylight came. He then discovered that he was at an old fort 2 miles from his home. Then he brought his cow home safely and it is an old saying in that neighbourhood when anyone is seen in a hurry "that they are going nearly as hard as Mike Sproul when he had his hand wrapped in the cow's tail"
