    Not far away from Mosney there is a field called "Chapel Castle". A chapel with a cemetery once stood here and a great number of headstones still lie about. On one particular headstone the name Mary Gargon is still plain to be seen.
    According to local tradition bells were heard one Christmas Eve night by a man who was returning home from Laytown and it is believed that the bells rang for the repose of the souls of the dead. The corpse was brought to it by a road which started at the place when Mr. Barne's Gormanston lives and passing through Irishtown and skirted the
