    In olden days the road leading through Gormanstown Village was the main road from Dublin to Belfast...

    In olden days the road leading through Gormanstown Village was the main road from Dublin to Belfast, and there lived a man whose name was Gorman. He kept an inn there. It was a resort for highway men.
    At one time an Official carrying large sums of money came from Belfast, broke his journey and put up at the inn for the night.
    This Official had a dog with him and as he was taking the dog with him, Gorman said he could not allow the
