    shoe nail put into the bucket into which the cow is to be milked to bring luck. To find a horse shoe is considered lucky. If a person puts on her stockings inside out it is a lucky omen and it will bring ill luck to change them. To let a teaspoon fall mans a disappointment. If a knife falls there will be a man visitor to the house and if a fork falls it means that there will be a woman visitor. On May-morning if somebody takes a tin of water out of the well and throws "Phibisions" into it before the owner, the yield or butter for the following year will be very poor. If a brides car breaks down if the heel falls off her shoe, or if she puts on her wedding gown before her wedding day, it is said she will have bad luck.
