  1. Some years ago Major Fortescue built a garage in Lurgangreen. It was built of brick, with a wooden roof covered with felt & tar. Motor cars were built, sold, & repaired here. After about 3 years a fire broke out & burned it down, with the exception of one wing. This wing was repaired and enlarged and converted in a Kipper factory. This failed, however, and was demolished and the bricks sold.
